May 24, 2012 — The MetroWest Daily News — A deadline to register in a city-sponsored résumé workshop next week has been extended until the day of the event, and spots are still open for residents seeking work.
On Wednesday, the résumé workshop will offer tips to city residents who are unemployed or seeking a job change. The event is free and open to the public, but officials are asking residents to preregister if they are interested.
The workshop, as well as a jobs fair next month, are being held through Marlborough Works! — a partnership between the city, the Marlborough Economic Development Corp. and Quinsigamond Community College.
Mayor Arthur Vigeant’s executive aide Michael Berry said yesterday that more than 30 people have registered so far and space is still available.
On June 13, the city will host a jobs fair at Courtyard Marriott.
Berry said that more than two dozen companies are set to attend, with more than 100 open positions. Like the workshop, the jobs fair is free and open to the public.
Companies that have signed up so far include Boston Scientific, Digital Federal Credit Union, Marlborough Hospital, Raytheon and Ken’s Foods.
To register for the workshop, call Quinsigamond Community College at 508-751-7900 or go to cce.qcc.mass.edu.
