July 15, 2007 – Creganna Medical Devices has opened a new, phase I facility in Marlborough, MA to offer enhanced production capabilities for extruded and braided tubing as well as design services, with an emphasis on minimally invasive medical devices.
The company, which has sales and manufacturing facilities in Galway, Ireland (where the company’s headquartered), California, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Finland, has gathered a team of extrusion experts to run the extrusion side of the new facility. Team leader George Michaels commented, “The extrusions team has a unique depth of knowledge and experience in the field, which sets us apart from other suppliers. This experience will be an invaluable resource to customers when making design and material selection choices.”
The design service arm offers services including initial concept development, manufacturing for commercialization and enabling medical device manufacturers to accelerate product development timelines.
“During the past year we have witnessed solid growth in demand for our services from medical device manufacturers,” said Contract Design Service Manager Dr. Liam Farrissey. “Establishing a design center in the US enhances our capacity to provide a local service.”
