METRO WEST DAILY NEWS – Hilton Hotels is looking to build a 153-room hotel at Forest Park, business leaders announced Friday.
“We couldn’t be more pleased,” Tim Cummings, executive director of the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation, said in a press release. “Forest Park is a very important development to the city of Marlborough, and this application signals the project has moved into a new phase.”
According to the release, CSM Corporation has filed an application with the city to build a 153-room Hilton Garden Inn Hotel at the park. Cummings said the addition of the hotel would fulfill an envisioned “hospitality” niche at the park, which is located off I-495 in the city’s southwest quadrant.
“We already have the commitment of a large business, Quest Diagnostics, a large residential property developer, AvalonBay, and now we are looking at adding a great hotel,” Cumming said. “This completes the trifecta.”
Quest plans to open a 200,000-square-foot lab at Forest Park this summer, while AvalonBay is building 350 “luxury rental” apartments. The developer also plans to construct 75,000 square feet of retail space.
