METRO WEST DAILY NEWS — St. Mary’s Credit Union wants to tear down its branch on Rte. 85 and replace it with a new bank building complete with a Starbucks coffee shop.
Both businesses will have their own drive-thrus, according to the plans submitted to the city. The council in June approved the rezoning of two homes behind St. Mary’s to accommodate the project, said attorney Brian Falk, at the July 22 City Council meeting.
The project is now before the City Council Urban Affairs Committee and will eventually make its way back to the full council for final approval.
Falk said the 4,600-square-foot proposed building at 133 South Bolton St. is a good fit for the property and will have little impact on the surrounding roads. The bank will allow parents to park at the bank to use the John Street playground and will include a sidewalk and crosswalk.
