Downtown Village
The City of Marlborough created the 50-acre mixed-use Downtown Village district in 2014, in an effort to foster new development in the downtown area. The nonprofit Marlborough Downtown Village Association was created in 2016, in order to involve area residents and businesses in the district’s long-term success and sustainability. The organization strives to create a district that offers a high quality of life, ongoing economic development, cultural growth and exterior revitalization, and regular attractions to commuting workers and visitors to Marlborough.
French Hill
The French Hill neighborhood (Pleasant, Lincoln and Elm Streets) is one of Marlborough’s oldest areas, originally settled by French Canadians, where grand old buildings still stand proud. The French Hill Neighborhood Association, started in 1998 and re-invented in 2008, works to connect French Hill neighbors through beautification, safety improvement and community events that reflect the area’s vibrant nature. The association is committed to being an asset to the people, parishes and businesses of this ethnically diverse neighborhood and the City of Marlborough at large.
