Marlborough, MASS. January, 2013 –The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is assisting the Marlborough Community Development Authority (CDA) with hosting a public forum on its upcoming grant application for a “Sign & Façade Program” on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at 5:30 p.m., at the Main Street Café, 182 Main Street, Marlborough. The meeting is being organized by a partnership of the MEDC, Marlborough CDA, Marlborough Downtown Village, and the French Hill Neighborhood Association.

In February, Marlborough CDA will apply with the Town of Hudson for a joint grant through the federal Community Development Block Grant program, which aids neighborhood revitalization projects. If approved, the grant will assist commercial building and business owners in designated areas of both communities with the costs of improving their façades and signage.

Marlborough CDA is seeking input at this meeting on its Design Guidelines, which outline the types of commercial building improvements that could receive matching funds through the Sign & Façade Program. The organization also seeks feedback on the process that participating businesses and property owners would use to design and construct their projects.

General information about the proposed program, which areas in Marlborough are eligible for assistance, as well as application forms will also be available at the meeting. In the event of a snowstorm, the meeting will be postponed until January 23, at the same time of day and location.
