MEDC rebrands for the first time in nearly a decade introducing a more modern logo
Marlborough, MASS. March 13, 2019 – The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has launched a new logo, marking the most dramatic change in its visual identity since it became known as MEDC in 2010.
Designed by local graphic artist Doreen Moscillo-Howes, MEDC’s new logo integrates simple, schematic symbolism to project a progressive identity of continued economic growth. The design, which uses modern black lettering and a bright green bar-chart accent to represent the letter “E,” focuses on complimenting MEDC’s mission to provide guidance and resources for local businesses and to support expansion and development within the City of Marlborough.
“We are very excited and energized by this update to our visual identity,” said MEDC executive director Meredith Harris. “Our new logo represents our values and mission much more clearly than our old one and it, ultimately, brings our organization into the present moment.”
“As a long-time Marlborough resident and someone who has been following the work of MEDC closely, I felt a personal connection to this logo design,” said Howes. “I am excited to see how this identity transformation is going to transpire in MEDC’s future marketing efforts for the city.”
MEDC was formed in 2006 under the name “Marlborough 2010, and rebranded under its current designation in 2010. Since its inception, MEDC has helped secure a number of major wins for the city, including attracting dozens of employers, rezoning and revitalizing the downtown area, and facilitating a mix of new developments.
